                                                       A CHALLENGING DECISION

There are many questionnaires about university student's choices.Whether they would like to stay at home or in dormitories varies from one student to another. Some of the students think that there is no difference between these two things.Unlike them, it is believed that there are some differences..Surprisingly, these differences outnumber the similarities.

Both staying at home with families and staying at the dormitories provide us with a few things like emotional support, responsibility and safety.Firstly,we can feel stronger in both of them.In the former occasion,we know that our family supports us,we can share our feelings with them.Likewise,in the latter occasion,we can talk with friends, they support us.Sharing some feelings with both family and friends makes us happy and a hopeful people. In addition,we are aware that we have some responsibilities in both of them. For instance,we must be tidy in both cases. We must obey some rules like not making any noise. If we make a noise, our neighbours can be disturbed.Similar to this, other students staying at dormitories can be effected. Finally,in both places,we feel that we are in a safe environment. Our family protects us from all the evils at home.Similarly, there are security guards at the dormitories.

Besides few similarities, many differences exist between staying at home and staying at the dormitories such as freedom, personal growth, lack of privacy and noise.First of all, while we are staying with parents,we can feel we are restrained,we are not free.Families can sometimes intervene in our lives. They say you must be at home until 11 o'clock. In contrast to this, while we are staying at the dormitories, we have more freedom. We can go out with a friend at every hour.Another aspect of the freedom can be decision making process. We sometimes think we are over 18, so we can make up our minds. At these times, living at dormitories is more preferable. In the second place,in the dormitories,we can develop ourselves more personally as compared to staying at home. For example, our parents insist that we should study hard, they wake us up early. However, there is no one to wake up us in the dorms. This provides us with self-discipline and time managment skill. In the third place,we have a chance to stand alone at home whenever we need.On the other hand, this seems to be impossible mostly at the dormitories.Lastly, home has a peaceful and silent environment.Nevertheless, many a people staying at dormitories makes a lot of noise.

In conclusion, the differences between home and dormitory outnumber the similarities. The dormitory and home are similar in terms of emotional support, responsibility and safety. They are different in ways of freedom, personal growth, lack of privacy and noise. If I had to choose one of them,I would eliminate the option of living with parents. I think living at dormitory is more adventegeous than living with parents.

  1. Gamzeee,Firstly I wanna say that I like your blog name so much=)Love is an important feeling and everyone should feel it=)
As to your journal, I agree with you.Living at dormitory is better.Sometimes we miss living with our family, our beds, our mothers' meals and we are bored living at dormitory. But we have a lot of friends here. They are always near us.We can do whatever we want.As you said, we are free an dormitory, unlike our homes. There is one more point that I agree with you.Living at dormitory provides us with self-discipline and time management skill. It makes us ready for life.I think that living at dormitory is beneficial for us.
